Xiaomi has recently launched its budget flagship phone Redmi Note 7 Pro in India. We are calling it a budget flagship here because it is the best smartphone in the range of 13-15K, which you get with Snapdragon 675, premium design and features like 48MP rear camera.
If you talk about a smartphone in the collision of Note 7 Pro, then it is the latest Samsung Galaxy A50. The cost of this smartphone is slightly higher than the Redmi Note 7 Pro, but the specs are also good. It has features such as AMOLED Display, Triple Cameras and In-Display Fingerprint Sensor.
So if you can extend your little budget and are confused between these two smartphones, then this detailed comparison given below can get rid of your confusion.
Design And Build Quality
Redmi Note 7 Pro and Galaxy A50, here you meet with Gradient Color Options. In the Redmi Note 7 Pro, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection has been given on both front and back. The company has used the Glass body here and there is a plastic frame in between, which gives the feel of a premium phone.
While the galaxy A50 has a polycarbonate body, i.e. plastic is used, but its quality is quite good and you get it with gradient finish. There is also round edges of the A50, so this phone is more comfortable in comparison of the Redmi Note 7 Pro in the hand. There is an AMOLED display on the front side, whose colours and looks are better than the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
Here we would say that both of the smartphones are good enough, but if you want a glass and a flat body then you can choose Redmi Note Pro 7, else classy look, round edges and easy hand operation, you can choose the Galaxy A50.
Display
In both the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Galaxy A50, you get Full-HD+ display, as well as both, are launched with a waterdrop notch. But here's the LTPS in-cell display in Redmi Note Pro 7, while the Super AMOLED panel has been used in the Galaxy A50.
The display is good enough for both smartphones, but with the AMOLED panel in the Galaxy A50, you get very good detailing, brightness and colour contrast. Apart from this, the feel and quality of the display in A50 is also better than Note 7 Pro.
Processor
The Galaxy A50 has the Octa-Core Exynos 9610 processor, with four core having a clock speed of 1.7GHz, and the clock speed of the other four cores is 1.7GHz. Apart from this, Mali G72 GPU is there. In the same Redmi note 7 Pro, Snapdragon 675 processor is available, with a clock speed of 2.0 GHz and you get Adreno 612 GPU here.
Note 7 Pro's performance is much better here. Galaxy A50's Exynos 9610 does not have any lag, but as compared to Snapdragon 675, its performance is slightly behind. You can say that the Galaxy A50 Exynos 9610's performance is better than Snapdragon 660 and slightly lesser than SD 675.
You can play games in both the smartphones, but you can get good gaming performance in Redmi Note 7 Pro. You will not find any lag in these smartphones.
The AnTuTu score of Redmi Note 7 Pro is 180526, while the Galaxy A50 score is 144013.
Software
Here Samsung's Galaxy A50 is much better because with the Android 9.0 Pie OS you get the One UI, which is the latest software. Samsung has previously given One UI only in its flagship smartphones, and after that, this flagship interface has been offered in A series. Samsung has designed it quite well and has a fairly premium and simple interface. Even small animations and designs are great, while in the same way as MIUI 10, you will not find any ads to watch, as well as HD streaming support.
While there are little more features in the Redmi Note 7 Pro, but ADs is also quite visible. Also, One UI is elegant with it. Apart from that there is HD streaming certification, but this phone does not support it yet, hopefully, the company will provide HD streaming in the upcoming updates.
Camera
The highlights of Redmi Note 7 Pro is its rear camera, which comes with 48MP, the detailing, colour saturation is also more in it. This is a plus point of this smartphone. But the Galaxy A50 has triple rear cameras, in addition to main, there is a wide angle camera besides Depth Focusing, which you do not find in Redmi Note 7 Pro. But you get more exposure in the pictures of Redmi Note 7 Pro.
The Galaxy A50 has a 25+8+5MP camera setup, while the Redmi Note 7 Pro has 48+5MP. You can see good colour pictures in the Galaxy A50, but images with Natural Colors come with the camera of Redmi Note 7 Pro. Even after zooming, Note 7 Pro gives you great details.
On the other hand, if you talk about selfies, with a 25MP front camera, the Galaxy A50 gives you better selfies, while Note 7 Pro has a 13MP front camera.
Battery
In both smartphones, you get a 4000mAh battery. The Galaxy A50 also has fast charging support and Note 7 Pro also has Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 support. But for the quick charge 4.0 in Note 7 Pro, you will have to purchase an 18W charger separately.
Pricing And Availability
Note 7 Pro, 4GB+64GB variant will be available from tomorrow, priced at Rs. 13,999, while the price of this version of Galaxy A50 is Rs. 19,990. You can purchase the Redmi Note 7 Pro 6GB+128GB version at Rs. 16,999, the same A50's 6GB+64GB variant will be available at Rs. 22,990.
Verdict
In the Redmi Note 7 Pro, you get a Better Rear Camera and Powerful Chipset, while it has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The same Galaxy A50 has a super AMOLED display, which is much better. In addition, it has been provided in-display fingerprint scanner, better selfie camera.
Now decide whether you want to have a glass finish, a Powerful chipset with Redmi Note 7 Pro, or you should buy A50 with an AMOLED display, front camera and Premium One UI interface. But if A50 is ahead in some cases, then its price is also Rs. 6000 more than Redmi Note 7 Pro. That is the drawbacks in Note 7 Pro that fill the price difference.
